Major fashion house Ralph Lauren admitted Thursday to “poor imaging and retouching” of a stick-skinny model used in a magazine advertisement that has set the blogosphere abuzz. The controversy started when the blog Boing Boing posted the ad of model Filippa Hamilton last month with the caption, “Dude, her head’s bigger than her pelvis” — much to the displeasure of the elite fashion label’s legal team.
The ad (right) features model Filippa Hamiliton who doesn’t look like this normally, and is actually a beautiful girl. The photo is an injustice to the girl.
The 5-foot-10, 120-pound stunner was amazed to see her body digitally distorted for Ralph Lauren Blue Label.
“I was shocked to see that super skinny girl with my face,” she told the Daily News. “It’s very sad, I think, that Ralph Lauren could do something like that.”
Hamilton, 23, worked for Ralph Lauren since about 2002 and considered the company like a second family – until she was bounced.
