Page Fired For ‘Stop Harper ‘ Protest Sign In Parliament

A page, Brigette DePape, holds up a sign that says “Stop Harper’ in parliament.  I find this funny but unfortunately correct. Stephen Harper is dangerous. He’s a tyranny in Parliament. I agree with this girl’s claim, but was it worth it?

 She got fired.

Sadly, the majority of Canadians gave Harper a majority government, so if he behaved like a atyrant before with his minority government, the worst is yet to come.

Stephen Harper doesn’t respect his political opponents. He clings to the Monarchist Constitution of Canada because it has allowed him unlimited power in parliament. Unlike a republican form of government where party loyalty and bullying are not entrenched. In the parliamentary system,  party loyalty is expected, and if not given, it leads to firing/backbenching.

There’s already controversy that Harper has SELECTED senators for the money draining, non-democratic senate, despite their own provinces rejecting them as elected officials, and now with a majority government, Harper is poised to push his pro-military, pro-Monarchy agenda through with little to no consideration for what is best for the Canadian people.

Yet, the Canadian people gave him a majority government. I can’t help but shake my head at the naivety or stupidity of it all. Canadians are so detached from their government and the Canadian political system, they have no clue what’s going on. They just created a monster.

Just because you disagree with Harper's politics, does not mean that he has no consideration for the Canadian people. Perhaps it means that YOU have no consideration for the Canadian people – just one Canadian, yourself.
