Taken from John Stuart Mills’ On Liberty, the title of the blog refers to the analogy of the corn dealer’s house. In the writing, Mills suggests that an angry opinion written about the rising price/cost of corn in the newspaper becomes dangerous when the same sentiment is expressed before the house of the corn dealer. Then it can lead to direct violence against the corn dealer. The analogy is merely meant to show the limits of free speech.
